BiographyHarvey Quaytman is best known for his hard-edge, minimalist paintings of basic and sometimes irregular geometric shapes. Quaytman was born in Far Rockaway, New York and began studies at Syracuse University in 1955. He received his bachelor's degree from the Boston Museum School and Tufts University in 1959, and exhibited throughout the United States and abroad beginning in the early 1960s. Throughout his career, Quaytman remained focus on the essential elements of art—shape, texture, color, and composition.
