Suzanne Bocanegra

American installation artist and mixed-media artist, born 1957
BiographySuzanne Bocanegra is an installation and mixed-media artist who lives and works in New York City. She has taught at the Parson's School of Design and Middlebury College and has received numerous grants and fellowships including the Rome Prize in 1990, multiple Pollock-Krasner Foundation grants, and a Smithsonian Artist's Research Fellowship in 2013. Bocanegra's work has been exhibited in institutions throughout the United States and abroad including the Serpentine Gallery in London, the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and the Fabric Workshop in Philadelphia. The artist's large-scale installation performances have been performed at the Judson Memorial Church and Dancespace in New York.
