Judy Pfaff

American artist, born 1946 in London, England
BiographyJudy Pfaff received her bachelor of fine arts degree from Washington University in 1971 and her master of fine arts degree from Yale University in 1973. Pfaff is well known for her process-oriented abstract drawings, prints, sculpture, and installations. She is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships including a MacArthur Fellowship in 2004, grants from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1979 and 1986, and she is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. She has lectured extensively throughout the United States and abroad and has taught at Bard College since 1989. Pfaff's work can be found in the public collections of the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Whitney Museum of America Art, among others.
