BiographyLittle is known about Philip N. Yates, who was best known as a framemaker used by Bucks County artists. He was born in Australia and was living in Philadelphia by 1929. In their elegance and construction, his frames resemble Frederick Harer's, though there is no evidence he studied with the elder framemaker.
