BiographyBorn in Louisville, Kentucky, English studied with Thomas Eakins at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He settled in Claymont, Delaware, where he worked as a commercial artist from the 1880s through the early 1900s, when he traveled to Europe. When he returned, he settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he gained renown for his watercolor landscapes of the region.
