Franklin L. SchenckAmerican painter, 1856–1926

Schenck was a student of and frequent model for Thomas Eakins. Schenck followed Eakins when his teacher was dismissed from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and helped to run the day-to-day activities of Eakins' new school, the Art Students League of Philadelphia. Later in life, Schenck settled on Long Island where he painted idyllic landscape scenes.
