Marion Lawrence Fosdick

American ceramicist, sculptor, and teacher, 1888–1973
BiographyEducated at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Kunstgewerbe Museumschule, in Berlin, Fosdick taught for more than three decades at what is now the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. With Charles Binns and Clara Nelson, Fosdick developed the curriculum of the school. She exhibited at the National Ceramic Exhibitions in Syracuse and at Smithsonian and the Currier Museum of Art, and her work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Everson Museum in Syracuse, among other institutions.
