Regis Brodie

American sculptor and educator, born 1942
BiographyRegis Brodie is a potter and educator known for his efforts to make wheel-thrown pottery more accessible and easier to learn. Born in Pittsburgh, he studied at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Temple University and taught art at Skidmore College for several decades. He has been Professor Emeritus since 2011. At Skidmore, Brodie also directed the Summer Six Art Program for 35 years. His works are in the permanent collections of national and international collections, including the Long Beach Museum of Art in CA, the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, CA, the National Museums and Galleries of Wales, UK, the United States Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, and the National Ceramics Museum of France.
