Richard Haas

American trompe l'oeil painter and muralist, born 1936
BiographyRichard Haas was born in Spring Green, Wisconsin in 1936 and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 1959 and his master of fine art's degree from the University of Minnesota in 1964. Haas served as President of the National Academy of Design from 2009 to 2012, and his work is in numerous public collections. Haas is best known for his trompe l'oeil paintings and murals of architecture.
