BiographyAlan Kessler received his undergraduate degree from Philadelphia College of Art in 1967 and his master of fine arts degree from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1969. Following graduation he received grants and awards including a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and in 1976, was awarded an artist in residence grant at the Delaware Art Museum. Kessler is best known for his photorealist paintings and trompe l'oeil assemblages. The artist was the subject of solo exhibitions at O. K. Harris Gallery and James Yu Gallery in New York and is included in numerous corporate and public collections including the Delaware Art Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, and the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park.
