Ruth Borgenicht

American ceramic artist, born 1967
BiographyRuth Borgenicht is a ceramicist and teaching artist. After studying math at Rutgers University, she decided to work with clay rather than numbers, later earning a master of fine arts degree from Montclair State University. Her work is characterized by her use of interlocking rings, giving the pieces the appearance of chain mail. Borgenicht has taught at Montclair State University and has completed residencies at Hunter College and Greenwich House Pottery in New York. In 2005 she received a fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and is represented in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Sparta Teapot Museum in North Carolina, among others.
