BiographyJames Pinkney Havard is best known for his association with Abstract Illusionism of the 1970s. Havard earned his undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State College in 1959 and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts from 1961 to 1965. Havard's Native American and African inspired collages are included in the public collections of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, among many others.
