BiographySandra Mendelsohn Rubin received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in fine arts from the University of California, Los Angeles where she studied with James Valerio. She has shown her meticulous representational paintings with L.A. Louver since 1982. The artist's paintings have been included in group exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad and were the subject of a solo show at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1985. Rubin received a Guggenheim Fellowship for Fine Arts in 2012 and her paintings are included in the collections of the Crocker Art Museum, the Eli Broad Collection, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, among others.Person TypeIndividual
