Victor Spinski

American ceramic sculptor, 1940–2013
BiographyVictor Spinski was born on October 10, 1940. He attended the Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas, where he earned a B.S.E. in Art and Foreign Languages in 1963. Spinski went on to earn an MFA in Ceramics with minors in jewelry and photography from Indiana University in Bloomington. Following graduation from his master's program in 1967, Spinski became a full-time faculty member in the art department at the University of Delaware in Newark, where he served as a professor until his retirement in 2006. His work demonstrates his condemnation of wasteful contemporary life, and often takes the form of discarded trash or litter rendered in ceramic form.
