BiographyAmerican ceramic artist and former teacher Jack Earl is well known for drawing inspiration from his home state of Ohio. The artist received a master’s degree in ceramics from Ohio State University, taught first at the Toledo Museum of Art and later at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Earl was invited as the first artist in residence at the Kohler Factory, and his work is in the collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago, among many others. His work is noted for its insight into everyday life and its sense of humor.
