BiographyRon Adams was a celebrated commercial printer who worked as a master printer at Gemini G.E.L. in Los Angeles and Editions Press in San Francisco before founding his own printing company, Hand Graphics Ltd. He studied at Otis College of Art and Design and the University of Mexico in the 1960s. Adams retired from commercial printmaking in 1987 to focus on his own artwork. The stylized treatment of the figures and compositions in Adams’ prints was no doubt influenced by his time in Mexico and familiarity of the early 20th century mural tradition there. Following commercial retirement, Adams was an artist in residence at Hampton University and Tougaloo Art Colony and participated in numerous exhibitions across the United States.
