Rita Wolpé Barnett

American artist, 1920–1991
BiographyRita Wolpé Barnett was a Philadelphia artist and art instructor. As a child she studied at the Fleischer Memorial and she later attended the Tyler School of Art. Her most influential teachers were Earl Horter, Louis Bouché, and Leon Karp. She exhibited her paintings at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Corcoran Gallery, the Woodmere Art Gallery, the National Academy of Design, and the Brooklyn Museum. She taught at the Philadelphia College of Art and the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.
