BiographyCharles Pfahl was born in Akron, Ohio in 1946 and began his artistic training early with Jack Richard and Robert Brackman. In 1969, he moved to New York where he continued his studies with the New York Realist painter John Koch. Pfahl is celebrated for his meticulous and often mysterious figural paintings, and he has received numerous awards and grants from the National Academy of Design and the American Academy of Arts and Letters, among others. Pfahl taught at the Art Students League of New York and his paintings are included in numerous private and public collections including the Columbus Museum of Art and the Salmagundi Art Club. In 2016, Pfahl was included in the Delaware Art Museum's exhibition, Truth & Vision: 21st century Realism inspired by Robert C. Jackson's 2014 publication, Behind the Easel: The Unique Voices of 20 Contemporary Representational Painters.Person TypeIndividual
