Meriden Gravure Company

American printer, 1888–1977
BiographyFounded in 1888 by Charles Parker and James F. Allen in Meriden, Connecticut, Meriden Gravure specialized in highly detailed image reproduction and its clients included scientific journals, museums, libraries, and publishers of illustrated books. As technology evolved, the company employed collotype and halftone processes and offset presses. They offered color reproduction by the mid-1940s.
