Erica Honson is an interdisciplinary artist and collaborative printer in Philadelphia with a background in graphic design, papermaking, printmaking, and bookbinding. Their work is influenced by their surroundings; language, sounds, a sense of place; the experience of inhabiting a body; and relating to other humans, nature, time, and oneself.
While maintaining the presses and type collection as the studio coordinator at Common Press within Penn Libraries, they facilitate and teach the history of letterpress printing. Erica printed with and for students and visiting artists using experimental offset lithography at the Borowsky Center for Publication Arts alongside teaching at the University of the Arts. They also taught at the Delaware College of Art and Design, and have taught workshops in community art centers, libraries, colleges, and outdoor public spaces. Erica received an MFA in Book Arts & Printmaking from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, following a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
