Power Robert Boothe

American painter, born 1945
BiographyBorn in Lafayette, California, Power Boothe received a bachelor's degree in painting from Colorado College before moving to New York City in 1967. He has worked collaboratively with choreographers and directors, creating designs for dance, experimental theater, and video. Boothe has taught extensively around the nation—at Maryland Institute College of Art from 1993–1998, the School of Art at Ohio University from 1998–2001, and from 2001 to present at the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford. Boothe's paintings are included in numerous public and private collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Baltimore Museum of Art, among others.
