Curlee Raven Holton

American painter, printmaker, academic, and author, born 1951
BiographyCurlee Raven Holton received his undergraduate degree from Cleveland Institute of Fine Arts and his master of fine art's degree from Kent State University, and Holton is Professor Emeritus at Lafayette College after teaching there for 20 years. The artist founded the Experimental Printmaking Institute at Lafayette and supported artists and scholars working in printmaking. An author, painter, and master printmaker, Holton opened the commercial print shop Raven Fine Art Editions in Williams Township, Pennsylvania in 2017. Holton was appointed Executive Director of the David C. Driskell Center for the Study of the Visual Arts and Culture of African American and the African Diaspora at the University of Maryland-College Park in 2014, and his work has been the subject of solo exhibitions and included in numerous public collections throughout the United States.
