Douglas Lockwood

American artist, 1903–1978
BiographyDouglas Lockwood was born in Flint, Michigan in 1905 and received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education degrees from Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, he studied at the University of Michigan, Chicago Academy of Fine Arts (now Art Institute of Chicago), and the New York School of Fine and Applied Art (now Parsons). Lockwood taught at the Craft School at the Henry Street Settlement from 1935–1943, at Pennsylvania State University from 1943–1945, and at the Seaford Special School beginning in 1951. The artist exhibited at Willard Gallery in New York and was included in numerous annual juried exhibitions at the Delaware Art Museum. The Museum also included him in two four-person shows in 1964 and 1969.
