Donald Holden

American artist,1931–2017
BiographyDonald Holden was born in Los Angeles in 1931 and obtained his undergraduate degree from Columbia University in 1951 and is master's degree from Ohio State University in 1952. He subsequently studied at the Art Students League in New York and in 1986, received an honorary degree from Maine College of Art. Holden served as the Editorial Director for American Artist magazine from 1963 to 1987, and his work has been included in numerous exhibitions and public collections. Holden is best known for his glowing, abstract watercolors inspired by the natural environment.
