Edwin Roscoe Shrader
American artist and illustrator, 1879–1960
He was a member of the art colony in New Hope, PA, for three years before settling in Los Angeles in 1917. In that year he became a teacher at the Otis Art Institute and, upon retirement in 1948, was dean of that school.
Shrader had an active career as an illustrator of books and magazines. He was well-known for his Western American subjuects. Later in life, he also took up landscape painting.
