Shirley Pettibone

Shirley Pettibone was born in 1936 in Bakersfield, California, and studied at Principia College in Illinois—obtained her bachelor’s degree in 1957—and the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. She received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1976 and exhibited throughout California and the west coast. Pettibone was married to the appropriation artist, Richard Pettibone, and is known for her photorealistic landscape drawings and paintings.
