Rico TomasoAmerican illustrator, 1898–1985

Rico Tomaso was born in Chicago, Illinois. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago with J. Wellington Reynolds and at the Art Students League of New York with Robert Henri and Harvey Dunn. Tomaso's work was also heavily influenced by his teacher and friend Dean Cornwell. As an illustrator Tomaso contributed to Ladies' Home Journal and the Saturday Evening Post. He created advertisement for Granger Pipe Tobacco and was well known for illustrating adventure stories such as those by Albert Richard Wetjen. Tomaso taught at the Grand Central School of Art.
