Erik Gronborg

Danish born, American artist and craftsman, born 1931
BiographyHailing from Denmark, Erik Gronborg earned degrees in sculpture from the University of California at Berkeley despite having no formal arts training prior to college. He is known for combining metal, clay, and wood in his sculpture and other creative works. Gronborg taught at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, San Diego State University, and Mira Costa College in Oceanside, CA, and was honored in 2016–2017 with a large retrospective exhibition at the Mingei International Museum in San Diego, CA. He was also the subject of solo shows at the Museum of Arts and Design and the Musee d'Art Morderne in Paris.
