Tony Robbin

American painter, born 1943
BiographyTony Robbin is a founder of the Pattern and Decoration painting movement of the 1970s. He began exhibiting in the early 1970s, first at Bykert Gallery, and a solo exhibition of his work was held at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1973. Robbin holds the patent for the use of Quasicrystal geometry in architecture, and the artist has written extensively on this application. The Orlando Museum of Art hosted a retrospective of his work in 2011, and his paintings can be found in corporate and public collections throughout the United States including the Blanton Museum of Art, the Delaware Art Museum, and the Neuberger Museum of Art, among others.
