Anna Bogatin Ott

American artist, born 1970

BiographyBorn in the former Soviet Union in 1970, Anna Bogatin Ott immigrated to the United States in 1992. Prior to her move, Bogatin Ott lived throughout Europe in Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, and Poland. Her interest in art began at an early age. She attended junior art school in Russia and studied fashion design in Moscow. Bogatin Ott attended Bucks County Community College, and in 2002 she received her bachelor of arts degree in painting from the University of the Arts. She moved to California to study at the San Francisco Art Institute. There Bogatin Ott trained with Charles Boone, Frances, McCormack, and John Zurier. She completed her master of arts degree in painting in 2006.

Bogatin Ott’s works on paper, paintings, and sculpture have been included in numerous group shows throughout the United States at the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art (Chicago, IL), the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art (Fort Collins, CO), among others. Bogatin Ott’s work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at Holly Johnson Gallery (Dallas, TX), Margaret Thatcher Projects (New York, NY), and Larry Becker Contemporary Art (Philadelphia, PA), where she has shown since 2007. The artist has been the recipient of honors and grants including the Crozier Prize Fund for Outstanding Achievements (1999), Larry Day Memorial Award (2001), and Philadelphia Watercolor Society Award (2002), among others. Bogatin Ott is represented in public, private, and corporate collections including the Georgia Museum of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Gregory Allicar Museum of Art, and Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art.
