BiographyTenneson is a fine art photographer. She earned her MA in photography from George Washington University and taught for several years before moving to New York City where she supported herself through magazine assignments and the sales of her photographs and photo books. Tenneson has had cover images on several magazines including Time, Life, Newsweek, Esquire, and The New York Times Magazine. Her work has been displayed in more than 100 exhibitions around the world and she has received many awards, including an ICP Infinity Award in 1989 and the Maine in America Award in 2017. Tenneson may be best known for the book Wise Women which was the best-selling photography book of 2002.
