Tom Otterness

American sculptor, born 1952
BiographyBorn in Wichita, Kansas Tom Otterness moved to New York in 1970 to study at the Art Students League. He was a founding member of the artist collective, Colab (Collaborative Projects), and has maintained a committment to fostering public engagement with art. He is internationally recognized for his playful, figurative sculpture that is typically installed in busy public spaces such as parks, subway stations, and plazas.
