Label TextIn the late thirties and early forties, Edgerton made a concerted effort to popularize his technology by photographing famous athletes and performers—here, members of the acrobatic troupe Martels and Mignon. Photographs like this one appeared in Life magazine and on sports pages, eventually making the electronic flash necessary equipment for sports photographers.
