Label TextEdgerton began photographing milk dropping onto a plate in 1932, and it took him 25 years to capture this image with its near perfect crown of evenly spaced tips. One of Edgerton's best-known photographs, this work captures the split-second transformation of a falling milk droplet into a coronet as it makes impact.
