Label TextIn his usual precise style, Hardie emphasizes the massiveness of the fortress of St. Malo on the Normandy coast, delicately mirrored in the water at left. A student of Sir Frank Short, Hardie became a print scholar and published catalogues of several artists' work, including Meryon.
