Scottish draftsman and etcher, 1876–1953
BiographySir Muirhead Bone (1876-1953), Scottish etcher and painter was born in Glasgow. He was a qualified architect, but turned to the fine arts enrolling at the Glasgow School of Art, enrolling in evening classes. The majority of his subjects are landscape or architectural. In 1901 he moved to London and exhibited at the New English Art Club. He is particularly well known for his work as a war artist in both World War One and World War Two.
