Frank Faulkner

American painter, born 1946
BiographyFrank Faulkner was born in Sumter, South Carolina, in 1946 and received his bachelor and master of fine arts degrees from the University of North Carolina. Faulkner received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1974 and was included in the Whitney Biennial in 1975 at which point he moved to New York. The artist's minimal, patterned paintings are influenced by his interest in the applied arts and architectural details, and Faulkner is also well known for his work in interior design.
