American potter, 1935–2016

BiographyRonald "Ron" Burke was a ceramicist and educator. He studied at the State University of New York at Oswego and earned a master of fine arts degree from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. He was a full-time potter until 1998 when he devoted himself to teaching; he taught at Maine College of Art, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and Phillips Exeter Academy. Burke participated in numerous group shows and solo shows both nationally and internationally and received a National Merit Award from the American Crafts Council, among other honors.
