BiographyWilliam Kendall was an American painter best known for his scenes of domestic life featuring his first wife and their three daughters. He trained at the Brooklyn Art Guild, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts under Thomas Eakins, the Art Students' League in New York, and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. From 1913 to 1922 Kendall was a professor and head of the School of Fine Arts at Yale. He was also an elected member of the National Academy of Design.
