BiographyJoan Myers was born in Des Moines, Iowa in 1944 and received her bachelor's and master's degrees in musicology at Stanford University. Myers began her career in photography in the early 1970s and has published multiple books and received numerous award and grants over the past forty years. Her subjects include the landscape of the western and southwestern United States, the female figure, and industrial and agricultural sites. Myers utilized a variety of photographic techniques and is well known for her use of the platinum-palladium process.
