Joel Philip Myersborn 1934

Joel Philip Myers is known for his career as a glass and ceramics artist. After studying advertising design at the Parsons School of Design, Myers studied ceramic design in Copenhagen before returning to the United States to earn undergraduate and graduate art degrees from Alfred University. Myers has worked in design and art in both corporate and educational capacities at the Blenko Glass Company and Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois, respectively. He is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and has been exhibited around the world. His work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art in Japan, and the Museum of Decorative Art in Prague.
