BiographyThe Artificers’ Guild was founded in 1901 by Nelson Dawson, aided by Edward Napier Hitchcock Spencer. The firm was acquired by the lawyer, Montague Fordham in 1903, having experienced financial difficulties. The Guild primarily produced domestic silver, but also created church plate, wrought iron, steel, jewelry, and stained glass.
