Edith Taylor Roberson

American painter, 1929–2014
BiographyBorn in Wilmington, Delaware, Roberson studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and privately with Charles MacLellan, a student of Howard Pyle. She regularly exhibited paintings at the Museum's annual exhibitions in the 1950s. In 1960 Roberson moved to Utah where she became active in the arts community. Many of her paintings fuse meticulous realist rendering with dream-like imagery, and others fall into the tromp l'oeil tradition.
