Viktor Weinmayr

American artist, 1903–1971
BiographyViktor Weinmayr was born in Linz, Austria in 1903 and held a doctorate degree in organic chemistry from the University of Vienna. He immigrated to the United States in 1927 and began working for DuPont in 1930. He retired as a senior research chemist in 1965. Following retirement, Weinmayr created wood and glass panels and ceramics, and he participated in exhibitions in Wilmington including the Delaware Art Museum's Eighth Annual Contemporary Crafts exhibition in 1964.
