Jeanne Sala

Sala was a Delaware artist, born in Milan, Italy. Sala earned a doctorate in chemical engineering in Turin, before moving to the United States with her husband Carolos Sala, a chemist. He went to work for DuPont in Wilmington, but the company did not hire female chemists, leading her to pursue her artistic interests. In 1938 Sala became a member of The Studio Group. She exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
