BiographyAmerican artist Guy Wiggins is famous for his impressionist paintings of New York City streets and buildings in the snow. Born in Brooklyn into an artistic family, Wiggins first training came from his father, the painter Carleton Wiggins. Initially attracted to architecture he enrolled at the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, but transferred to the National Academy of Design. In 1920, he began to spend part of each year near Old Lyme, Connecticut, joining his father as part of the artists' colony there. In the 1930s, he opened the Guy Wiggins Art School and in Connecticut.
