BiographyAlice Beard (1867–1949) was born in Cincinnati and spent most of her life in New York City creating illustrations and genre paintings with strong color and active figures. She was a student of Howard Pyle at the Brandywine School of Illustrator and exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Society of Independent Artists, and the National Arts Club.
