Label TextReinhart was born in Pittsburgh. After serving as a telegraph operator and a steel mill clerk he studied art in Paris and Munich. In 1870 he settled in New York and accepted an exclusive contract with Harper and Brothers, where he remained for 8 years. In the 1880, another Harper's contract took him to Paris. He illustrated European life for the magazine. He remained an illustrator for the rest of his career, while also exhibiting at the Paris salons.Charles Davis Mitchell
