Label TextFor this combination travelogue, mystery story and romantic comedy, Chales Stanley Reinhart drew a cast of characters at a wedding in Italy, including the self-absorbed groom, who is pleased that he has won the village's prettiest young woman.

Reinhart was born in Pittsburgh. After serving as a telegraph operator and a steel mill clerk he studied art in Paris and Munich. In 1870 he settled in New York and accepted an exclusive contract with Harper and Brothers, where he remained for 8 years. In the 1880, another Harper's contract took him to Paris. He illustrated European life for the magazine. He remained an illustrator for the rest of his career, while also exhibiting at the Paris salons.
