Label TextA printmaker of international renown, Henry Atwell Thomas was the leading lithographer documenting the American theater in the late 19th century. He began operating under the name H.A. Thomas Lith.; this firm was succeeded by Thomas & Eno and Thomas & Wylie. Throughout his career Thomas also published prints of New York landmarks and historical events. In 1886, he was chosen by Buffalo Bill Cody to create the portrait that the Western performer circulated as his official image.
